Social Work: Social Work is an integral part of health care. Social work helps in addressing problems associated with the stress of an illness. Social work helps veterans find resources to meet their needs within the VA system and in their community.
Mental Health Services: Social work offers counseling to veterans with emotional, substance abuse, and other problems. Counseling addresses a range of conditions such as PTSD, depression, and assistance with adjustment to a disability or illness. Counseling is conducted through one-on-one sessions and/or group classes.

Suicide Prevention Awareness: Suicide is the 11th most frequent cause of death in the U.S. — someone dies from suicide every 16 minutes. Suicidal ideas and attempts to harm oneself are the result of problems that may seem like they can’t be fixed. Together, Vet Centers and VA Medical Centers stand ready to reach out and help veterans at risk for suicide.
